Day 2 in Paris - The Palace of Versailles

The Palace of Versailles is about a 30-min train ride from the Eiffel Tower. It is so grand that I highly recommend spending a full day there.

For me, the palace consists of 3 major parts: the palace and its museum, the gardens, and the estate of Trianon. You don’t need to join a tour to visit Versailles. I purchased the Paris Pass which let me enter many museums and attractions without waiting in line to purchase tickets.

The golden gates of Versailles - The originals were torn down during the French Revolution. These replicas were recreated with 100,000 gold leaves.

The gardens of Versailles

Have you seen the movie Marie Antoinette directed by Sofia Coppola? Ever since I saw that scene of Marie Antoinette gracefully walking through the gardens. I had made up my mind to visit it one day!

The Versailles gardens are massive. From the gardens to the Trianon Palaces is about a 30-minutes walk. There’s an option to take the Little Train to get there.

Random house I found around the Petit Trianon. I took a photo because I found this house very adorable. If any of you know what this house is, please leave comments below and let me know!

Traveling solo is a very unique adventure, because you can be spontaneous, step out of your comfort zone and be thrilled by what you discover?. In 2016, I really wanted to visit Paris but my husband (then boyfriend) could not make it. So I made the decision to travel alone, and yes for my very first trip to Europe ?. • This trip is a very cherished memory of mine. I got to practice French with the locals, capturing many shots like these in the city, dined alone at amazing restaurants while taking in the culture of a foreign country. • Here are some photos from this trip. Many more photos to come! . • Photo 1️⃣: Random house I found inside of Versailles. Took a pic of it because I found it very adorable! Photo 2️⃣: Garden inside of Versailles. So well designed, no wonder the royals could spend their entire summer here! Photo 3️⃣: Inside of the Petit Trianon, Marie-Antoinette’s Estate. I’m very fascinated by her story. She was pushed into the formality of royalty while struggling to enjoy a simple life. Photo 4️⃣: Courtyard inside of the Petit Trianon, a very calming place.
